hi i'm new here and hope you guys can help me out with some bothering issues on my HD2. SO HERE'S THE LIST -
1) WIFI- the WIFI is working and it's connecting to hot points, but when the WIFI works the internet connection is down. it wasn't like this till 2 days ago. anyone has a clue why?
2) making a call- when i press send button to make a call the screen shuts down even if the phone isn't near my ear, the call is made but i have to press send again to turn on the screen. than- when i bring the phone closer to my ear it doesn't shut down.
3) SMS- sometime, not in specific time of the day, SMS is going to out-box folder and it's not send even if i try to resend (i'm on Cyta network in Cyprus).
4) Gamil- i defined the gmail account on the email of the device. however unlike Iphone it downloads only headers and i want to see the entire message upon recieving without needing to choose to download it. is it possible?

tnx in advance for all helpers

Hi,

I'm quite new here too, and I certainly can't explain the first few issues, you may need someone more experienced to advise you! lol

With regards to the SMS, it's a problem that affected a lot of users. Have you updated to the latest firmware on the HTC website? If not, try that first, as it seems to have resolved a lot of users problems.

I had the same issue with my Hotmail account, but there is a setting where you can allow it to download the entire message, so whilst I can't tell you exactly where it is (as don't have the handset with me at the moment), it is possible to do.

1) Don't know
2) Make sure you havent installed an app or changed some settings that makes the screen blank when on a call.
3) Install the hotfix from htc's site. Apperantly its not HTC's fault but the network you are on. Most of the people who have trouble with the sms are on vodafone. After many months of research it seems the problem is because of the network settings.
4. First do this:
Press inbox - menu - tools - options - your email account - send receive schedule - download messages - all messages.

Second do this:
Press inbox - menu - tools - options - your email account - download size settings - message download limit - entire message.

Suggestion: look in the settings before asking a question. Most of the apps have a menu - settings or a menu - tools or a menu - options. Always look there and make sure you go as far as possible in the settings so you don't miss out something.

thanks you are the best  Roll Eyes

Just a suggestion when I get a new phone I go through every setting to see what they do.  Doesnt mean you have to change them but you will know which to leave alone and which to change.  I think this is one of the most important things you can do to learn your phone.  I noticed that a lot of your questions could have been taken care of by doing this plus you learn much more about the HD2,  Hope this helps

What do you mean internet connection is down? When you have wifi on don't you want to use wifi and not internet connection? Isn't that the purpose? Turn wifi off and internet connection then takes over.

i mean that the WIFI detection works well and it actually connects to the hot spot, but when i'm connected to WIFI i can't go to the web or get emails. i can do that only using the 3G. and it was fine till a few days ago. any idea?

Not sure what to tell you there if it did work? Install any new apps since it was working? Change any settings on your phone?

To get this cleared up....even though your phone says connected to wifi, nothing actually connects through it?

maybe the internet speed connection is s.l.o.w.
Full bar on wifi signal does not mean fast internet connection. So even you're connected to the network, you may failed loading web pages etc, because the internet connection is crap.
