Wiki says, "Windows Phone 7 was thought to have been unofficially ported to the HD2, but it was later demonstrated as easy to fake with the use of a Remote Terminal connection. [9]"

Various comments on xda say that it will be "impossible" to run 7 on the HD2 because of hardware requirements and software ID's and keys.  Several "senior" members say there will be workarounds for any of these roadblocks, and I believe them.  For those guys, the impossible takes less time than they originally thought.  Give 'em a week or two.

Actually they have no way of knowing for sure. Until they get a  rom to play with everyone is just guessing. And saying they will or will not at this point is only guessing also.
