I loaded Swype about 2 weeks ago and fell in love with it.

There is just a certain behavior that I can't really explain:

When writing on the Swype keyboard the keys occasionally do not recognize "tap-hold" in order to select the alternate key: e.g. (on the English keyboard) starting a new SMS I intent to tap-hold the character "y" for selecting the alternate numeric character "3".

However although the "y" key is highlighted when depressed, Swype prompts with single or multiple word choices (depending if "tap-hold" or "tap-long hold") and very seldom with the desired number.

This happens frequently when "illogical" entries are to be typed.

Of course it is possible to use the SYM key but for just entering 1 or 2 numbers it's a bit for too cumbersome.

I have checked the otherwise very informative help file but couldn't get a satisfying answer.

I assume that the algorithm for word detection is too intelligent for some of my illogical entries  Grin

Unfortunately this is a small problem with the T-mo 3.9 version. Seems sometimes they work and sometimes it doesnt. The previous omnia 2 version did not have this issue. The press and hold worked just like the HTC keyboard.

However I like the design of the keyboard better with the bigger keys and the bigger characters. Give it time and we may get a better version for our phone.

Thanks a lot.

For my otherwise "single finger, search and tap" writing system, Swype is perfect.
