Hi web3221
Hum! thats a good question, there are always ways to convert different formats. I am not familiar with the file type you mention though.
Maybe someone out there can recommend a free converter you can use.
If not take a look on the net for the same tones/tunes but in mp3 of wav format, i am pretty sure windows media player will convert mp3 to wav.

Sorry couldn't help more.

Paul,
I tried converting the tone file into wav. then placed it under My device/windows and went and looked for it under my alarm clock/ tones and unfortunately i couldn't find it. To give u a clear idea of where I have looked, i looked under the homepage's alarm clock icon next to the calender, is that the appropriate place I was suppose to look for it in?

Web,
for ur Jad. file, i found a bunch of converters online that convert jad. files to mp3/mp4 files. try doing that then convert them into wav. afterward. hope this helps.

Hi iphone2hd2

I have checked my alarm tone, the only thing extra is i have the word alarm- (Alarm-XXXXX) in front of the song i use?
I wouldn't of thought it would make a difference, but give it a try. And restart the phone just incase.

Let me know how it goes!!

Sorry if I'm barking up the wrong tree here, but I hope we're not discussing warez here...

G-Alarm is good, I've just bought a copy of it and G-Profile, at €4.99 each they're not expensive Wink

Ahhh, I didn't know that, but I like to have the latest versions available.

I'll have a look at those skins, although I'm happy enough with the default ones, I mean when that program launches I'm too bleary eyed to notice the skins on it Wink Smiley

Hi iphone2hd2

Had yet another look, the only thing i can think of is, see how my alarm is actually written on the next line.

       Alarm-Follow.wav

Perhaps the minus - sign is important, and the full stop definitely is.
You were also right about using the alarm icon on the home screen, then working through the settings to get to tones.

It does work for me!

Hope you manage to find a solution.

P.S. The reason the other tunes play for a short time only i think is down to size, kb size compared to my own tune.

Paul.

I agree on the size issue. I have a nice loud alarm.  And it is quite long. Plays for almost 45 seconds. It is a wav file and stored in the windows folder. No alarm in the title or "-".

When adding alarms (I only use wav files) I place them directly in the windows folder. On the device and not the storage card. They may not show up right away as the files need to be indexxed first. A soft reset might bring the file to the list. And it may not be in alphabetical order either. Don't forget to scroll all the way up and down when looking for it.

I use a free converter on my pc called Audicity.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

You also need to install the lame encoder for mp3.  Info on it and download here.

http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Lame_Installation

Program is awesome for making ringtones. Converting from stereo to mono. Changing the decibals to make louder ringtones.

Paul,
I tried renaming it, adding a diff file, changing the format and non of those worked. i did all of this while my phone is disconnected from the pc, so its not plugged into the pc (just an fyi).

Have few questions:
1) Under my clock alarm, i see many ring tones such as "Alarm-xxx, Alarm-sss, Alarm2, Alarm3...etc" but when I go to Windows/Rings, i dont see all of those that i see in the alarm clock app. so my thought is, could it be that iam placing the desired file into the wrong place?
2) are u seeing all of ur alarm rings in that "ring" folder under windows?

Thanks

ps. i tried renaming one of the existing rings, into a diff name, did a softreset and surprisngly, the phone didnt change the name of the ring under the alarm clock app, and still recognized it even tho i have renamed it under windows. and another interesting thing i learned, is that BSB Tweak or CleanRam dont work when i have the phone connected to the pc..lol just an fyi!
thanks

Hi iphone2hd2

By jove i think i may have it!!!!

Looking at your last thread you mention the 'rings' folder.

This is NOT where the .wav files need to be, they need only to be in the WINDOWS folder its self.

If you have put them in the windows/rings folder, move them to just the WINDOWS folder, soft boot the phone, and take another look.

Looking in the alarm choices of tones, i have without my own 29 tones these include a few from T-mobile.

Please let me know if this works for you.
"fingers crossed"

Paul.
