Hi there, need help...

I installed several apps to my flash disk inorder to save some memory.  Now these apps is having problem running from the start menu and i am getting an error message.  something about it's missing some components.

I went to the flash drive and run apps from it's installed location, the app ran fine.  Anyone can show me how to fix it?

It's minor problem i know, but so damn annoying.  I had the same problem when i had the WM6 and now i am still getting it.  I wish HD2 is operating in some other OS...

Do you mean you installed apps on the storage card? So they will run if you run them directly but the shortcut won't work in the start menu? Did you make the shortcuts or were they made when the application was installed?

Sorry to confuse you, but yeah that was what i meant.  I installed apps on my storage card and the shortcut in my start meanu wont run.  I have to go to the storage directory and run the app.  Those shortcuts were made when i installed the apps.

Help?  thanks.

I had this issue only once with Tower Defense game. You could always make new shortcuts. Delete the ones that do not work from the start menu then go to the exe and select copy then go to the start menu/programs/  or whichever folder you want the shortcut and select menu then edit then paste as shortcut.

Sorry to sound stupid but i did just that and i can't make any shortcuts that works.

I highlighted the app, select copy, and then went to the start menu/programs, then edit and then pasted as shortcut, and it still says that the path is not available or one of the components is not found.  It wants me to reinstall the app.

What happened??

You did what I would have done. And you are not sounding stupid. What apps were they? Maybe we can start from there.

Thanks for boosting my confidence a little.  I found out all of the apps that i installed to the storage card will not run in the start menu.  Even when i remove the app and reinstall them to the storage card.

This applied to all of the apps that i installed to the storage card.  The apps that i use the windows marketplace to install to the storage is still ok to run from the start menu.  What is going on?

After i installed any apps to the storage card, an icon with the standard icon with the app name will appear on the startup menu.  when i click on that icon, HD2 will respond: "Can not open the file "XXX" File is not registered with digital signature, or can not find one of the apps element.  If this problem persists, please reinstall or restore this app."(i am translating from Taiwanese Chinese).  This goes the same thing when i click the shortcut.

Never seen this issue. Did you format your storage card or was it the one that came in the phone when you bought it. Maybe it is not formatted correctly. Possibly using the phone to reformat your storage card may help.

I bought the storage card, i think i formatted but i am not sure.  i will try to use the 2g storage card to see if the app i installed can access from start menu.

What i dont understand is why suddenly stop able to access.
