By using a File Explorer, other than the original WinMo one. I'm using Total Commander.

Go to the root of your device and rename the PIM.VOL to example PIM.OLD.

Soft-reset your device.

After that, you can either delete the PIM.OLD or just copy it to elsewhere for backup.

You could also use a tool called PocketOutlook Eraser. You can select to delete contacts, appointments and tasks. It deletes them all if you select them. Its free. http://www.sugata.eu/products/pocketoutlook-eraser/
