I want to sync all my emails from my pc to my HTC ( about 3,000 of them ) but if these go on the phone the memory becomes full. Can I save these on my memory card instead?
I have a 16Gb card so space will not be a problem with this.

Unfortunately no... Only the attachments can be saved on the sd card. That's what i know.

Try this.

Using your Registry Editor, Goto:

HKLM\System\Inbox\Settings, edit or add a New String Value, if it's not there, named PropertyPath (no space) and its value \name of your storage card\Messaging.
Exit from the Registry Editor, wait 30 seconds and restart your device.

As for the attachments, open your Messaging, tap on Menu > Options, then go to Storage tab and checked When avaliable, use this storage card to store attachments.
Better to soft-reset also.

I am a beginer at this and fell at the first hurdle - how do I get to Registry Editor?

Saving the attachments to the card is ok, I found out how to do this.

Alternatively are there other periods of time I can set for how many emails to save. The options only go up to one month, after that all emails. If I could choose 3 or 6 months it would be ok.

Try Total Commander.

Go down a little to Download the Pocket PC version (Freeware!):, download the CAB version for ARM/XSCALE/PXA and transfer it into your device.
Install by tapping on it in File Explorer.

After installing TC;

1 ) Start Total Commander.

2 ) Double tap on \\Plugins.

3 ) Double tap on registry.

4 ) Double tap on HKLM.

5 ) Double tap on System.

6 ) Double tap on Inbox.

7 ) Double tap on Settings.

8 ) Double tap on PropertyPath.
If it's not there, double tab on +Add value+, to add that string.

9 ) Put in the value:
\name of your storage card\Messaging and tap OK.

10 ) Exit TC, wait 30 seconds and restart your device.

Alternatively are there other periods of time I can set for how many emails to save. The options only go up to one month, after that all emails. If I could choose 3 or 6 months it would be ok.

I can't do that, but you can try this work around.

1 ) In your Outlook, create a new folder. From your Inbox, choose those messages that you don't want to sync to your PPC and move them into this new folder.

2 ) On your device, choose to sync all emails.

3 ) Connect your device to PC and sync them.

4 ) After that, you can delete the new folder from your PPC.

Hi,

I've been through this and tried the things you said but it still got part way through and stopped, saying memory is full.

I changed the settings back to sync only the last month but now only blank emails come up.

How can I go back to how it was?

Hi,

Did you put the correct memory card name as the value of PropertyPath?

Can you check whether there's a folder named "Messaging" in your memory card?

I changed the settings back to sync only the last month but now only blank emails come up.

Did you choose to download Entire message?

How can I go back to how it was?

To revert back to what it was, just put back the original value into the PropertyPath and soft-reset.

The above worked for the Omnias, maybe not HD2. Not too sure.

Maybe you would like to try this:

First, revert back the above tweak. Make a soft-reset.

Then, add these 2 strings:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\MAPI\PropertyPath = \name of your storage card\Messaging
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\MAPI\AttachPath = \name of your storage card\Messaging\Attachments

And soft-reset.
