Hi all,
it is more than week i got a new battery. It is 1600mAh Li-on battery. I have purchased it via Ebay and now Im able to share my experiences with you.
At first I have to say, it was costed only AU $7.49 plus $6.71 shipping, so nothing extreme.
Ok, now I want to tell, it seems to be much more value to have 1600mAh battery instead of original 1230 mAh. Yes, it is true, but only a half. In the standby mode 1600mAh battery keeps life little bit longer than original one. But when you start use your device for  playing games, sending e-mails or surfing on internet  the battery life rapidly goes down. It can be comparable with original 1230mAh, but in my opinion the original battery has little bit longer life when you are using your device hard.
Setting of device was: 20% backlight status (I think it is enought to read in normal daylight), I was permanently connected to the internet via Edge. I played games around 2 hours per day, I used device´s wi-fi router round 1 hour. I sent 5 e-mails per day and made calls avg for 15 minutes/day, I browsed internet avg 2 hours/day. So as u can see it was quite frequent use of device per day.
I tried to use both of batteries the same way. Now I can responsibly say, buying the 1600mAh is not a bad idea, but after my experiences it is not necessary. For those who use their devices only sometimes it can be right way how to keep battery life on higher level. Truly I think there is nobody who is using this huge communicator like a normal cell phone. Calling and sending messages is on the last place in my case. So after 1 1/2week of using 1600 mh battery I am considering return to original one.
I hope the informations will be useful for you.

Regards

Bercy

nice review, thanks for that.
could you provide the link to the ebay item in the post well please.

1 thing to keep in mind is that these batteries are conditioned in the first week or two, so you might get some better use in the following week. let us know if you do feel a difference.

here you are. One strange thing i have noticed. When i was restarting device last 4 days, there was problem with service.exe occured. Ok, I said to myself, never mind. But another problem pops up with BBS instalation. I have instaled it already when error message had shown. I wanted to run app but message said: cant run application, it will close now, try to run it again or reinstal the application. I was trying run it again, but same message  poped up. Then I uninstaled it and I made soft reset. Next step I tttried to instal it again, but I couldnt instal it anymore, same message was still showing.
Today mornig I gave back original battery and everything is ok. No error message, I can instal BBS software without any problems. Its really strange.

And I agree with you battery will set up in a few weeks. But  battery is formating in first 3 cycles of recharging. Another time is not so importand for batteries' stability or full rechargeable capacity. According to some articles I have read tbe best for Li-on battery is  recharging  them when remain at least 30% of full capasity. So in the different words it is bad get battery to full empty. It is meaning for Li-on and Li-pol batteries only.

that is a weird issue, wouldn't have thought a battery could do that :s

ye you should never fully discharge a Li battery, it damages it a bit.

Honestly I have had a similar problem before. It is around 10 years ago when I bought Sony J7. I found spare battery in the mobil shop. The capacity of the spare battery was 1/2 higher than original one. When I replaced original battery with new one, I couldnt set up the clock and alarm. If I used the original battery everything went ok.
