Your new battery:

  • Only needs to be charged to 100%
  • Does NOT NEED OR WANT! a full discharge ever

What to expect:

Quote from: HTC Website
Power & Battery

Battery type: Rechargeable Lithium-ion battery
Capacity: 1230 mAh
Talk time:

    * WCDMA: Up to 320 mins
    * GSM: Up to 380 mins

Standby time:

    * WCDMA: Up to 390 hours
    * GSM: Up to 490 hours

Video playback Up to 8 hours
Audio playback: Up to 12 hours

talk time: is the total amount of time the phone can be in a constant phone call from a full charge
standby time; is the total amount of time the phone is on and connected to a carrier signal but not in an active call.

What to really expect:

You won't get as many hours as stated above.

I have been using it a lot in the past week and will say it will get you through 1 day with ease, if you forget to charge it over night you will have battery to last you into the day but if you are going to use it a lot it won't last you through the second day.

Battery Care/Making it last:

Charge it when needed, or every night when you sleep. Although Li-ion batteries have a limit on number of recharges, if you charge it once a day, it will last for over 3 years, which is a fair amount.

1. Flight mode over night (if you do not want to receive calls/sms over night)
2. Turn down the brightness, under 50% is very bright still
3. Turn off the vibration feedback.
4. Use WMLongLife app. Will control 2G,3G, Data and Wifi to save battery.
5. Close programs
6. If there is a weak signal and you don't need the phone, turn on "Flight Mode"

Useful Applications:

Suggest Applications that you find useful

WMLongLife - by Chainfire

BsB Tweak - by Makeveral

Useful Products - ONLY ON PRE-ORDER [updated:20/01/10]

Suggest other links. Including links for your country only, I'll seperate by country.

Cradle + Extended Battery & Cover - £20

Extended Battery & case - £15

Both of the above products are NOT official HTC products. The case to replace your metal one will be PLASTIC.

Average mixed use - charge every other day

Intensive video watching or 3D games drops the battery life significantly

I realized that its impossible for me to live without a spare batteri, but this spring ill find a solar cell solution (if possible) for my bike. I drive around 100 km each day and would hate to loose my Gps/music.

I hope soon! I'm really tech challenged, so I want latest version out, plus i read over on xda, & whirlpool, about problems after apps, & downloads? scarey for dumb people"me". Talking with supplier about what version is out, & whether to wait on Telstra? I don't think I'm going to wait. Talked to members on other forums who have hd2, without 3g, seems to work ok, just not as fast? I don't have 3g for hd I use, & happy with it. I need new phone bad!!! You guys don't help things either!!! Angry Angry Angry Angry >:(lmao Quig

lol i went back and had a look at that folder, there was a huge file there somehow :S

in total i've got 90.4mb right now. i will upload most of it (the useful stuff) once i've managed to get to grips with it so people can have a kick start with a load of programs.

right now i've just downloaded a few things from xda and something seems to have given me a boot up error (although it works fine after i click away the error) so i want to get things a bit more right and working before i give my collection to others.

thanks for bumping this thread though, i can add an app that i applied today, it is very useful and well created i think.

bump edited it and also added an extended battery £15 and extended battery + cradle £20, both of these are on PRE-ORDER! (you won't get it untill they get it in stock. no clue on the date)
i don't know what the case will look like, but i have emailed them asking for a real picture (doubt they can send) if you do buy it please upload a few pictures to let others (and myself Cheesy) see what it will look like.

i'm only putting this in because official extended battery from clove tech is like £50, and devicewire.
http://www.clove.co.uk/viewProduct.aspx?Manufacturer=HTC&Item=HTC+HD2+Extended+Battery&Product=6C9DA87E-F55C-4BE1-ACD7-3AC07A7E6635&utm_source=google&utm_medium=base&utm_campaign=pound

the £15 battery is not official, and the case cover is plastic not metal.

"No this is not an official HTC battery but a high quality clone
replacement. HTC themselves have not announced an extended life replacement
battery for the HD2.

We will not have screenshots of the battery available until our
stock arrives, however the cover is not metal as per the original HD2
battery cover but is a plastic cover."

Your new battery:

  • Only needs to be charged to 100%
  • Does NEED OR WANT! a full discharge ever

First time you charge you only need 100 % and its okay? I have red several guides on the internet about cellphones batteries (not about this on specifically though) that you should charge to 100 % and use it 'til the screen goes black the first 2-4 times for maximum capacity.

It gets better in time anyway, after the first charge. The first week you could experience bad battery life, but after that its gonna be ok.
